GCL-SI starts operation at cell plant in Vietnam

30.07.2017: Chinese solar manufacturer GCL System Integration Technology Co. Ltd. (GCL-SI) started production at a 600 MW solar cell plant in Vietnam on Thursday last week (July 27). During the past months, GCL-SI, a subsidiary of Golden Concord Ltd. (GCL), has customized the facility for the production of PERC cells together with its Vietnamese partner company Vina Cell. The cooperation, which had been announced in January, includes an investment of GCL-SI in Vina Cell in exchange for providing Vina Cell’s production capacities to GCL-SI. Shi Hua, president of GCL-SI, noted that the Vietnam production site will »contribute to cost-down as well as voiding anti-dumping issues«.
